Cornwall's Premier Offshore Fishing Charter
If you are serious about sea fishing — if you want the most from a day on the North Cornwall coast, if you want to reach marks that shorter trips never see, if you want to target the full breadth of species these extraordinary waters hold — the 8-hour full day charter is the only trip to book. This is the one that serious anglers come back for, year after year.
Eight hours on the water transforms what's possible. With the Emma Kate's twin 280hp engines capable of 25 knots, those hours can be spent fishing rather than transiting — and that means access to marks that 2-hour and 4-hour trips simply cannot reach. Deeper offshore wrecks. The pelagic banks where tope and summer bream congregate. The rugged outer reefs that hold truly exceptional pollack and ling. On the right day, at the right tide, with the right skippers, this is as good as sea fishing gets in the British Isles.
Skippers Lee and John will plan the day around the conditions — tides, wind, sea state and what's feeding well at the time of year. Tell them what you want to target when you book and they'll build the day around it. A dedicated tope session in August. A specimen pollack hunt on a deep wreck. A mixed species bottom-fishing day on the offshore reefs. The full day charter is our most customisable trip — and our most rewarding.
Full Day Charter Fishing in Cornwall — The Complete Guide
Of all the fishing trips available from Padstow, the 8-hour full day charter consistently produces the most extraordinary experiences. The extra time on the water fundamentally changes what's possible — deeper marks, more species, working the tides properly, and the ability to respond to what the sea is offering on any given day.
The North Cornwall coast between Trevose Head and Tintagel is one of the most productive stretches of water in the British Isles. Gulf Stream currents, complex seabed topography, and a rich baitfish population support an extraordinary diversity of predatory species. A full day charter is the only way to properly explore it.
Tope Shark Fishing Cornwall — What to Expect
Tope shark fishing off North Cornwall is one of the most sought-after sport fishing experiences in the South West. Tope are the UK's largest commonly-caught shark species — typically running to 30–45lbs, with exceptional fish over 60lbs occasionally encountered. They fight long and hard, making multiple powerful runs that test both tackle and angler.
Summer is peak tope season from Padstow — June through September sees the best concentrations on the sandy offshore ground. Tope follow the rays and smaller fish that move onto these grounds in warm water, and on a good summer day it's possible to boat multiple fish of real quality. Our full day charter is the ideal platform for a dedicated tope session — enough time to locate the fish and fish through the best tidal period.
Deep Water Wreck Fishing Cornwall — Pollack, Ling and Cod
The waters off North Cornwall contain dozens of charted wrecks, ranging from small fishing vessels to large cargo and naval ships from both World Wars. The most productive of these are 40–70 metres down — deep enough to hold truly exceptional fish populations, reachable only with the time available on a full day charter.
Deep water wreck pollack from Padstow are some of the finest sporting fish available in UK inshore waters. Fish of 3–6kg are regular on the better marks; occasional specimens over 8kg are a genuine possibility on the deepest wrecks. Ling to 10kg+ share the same habitat and take the same lures — on a good day, every drop produces a fish of quality.
Book a Full Day Fishing Charter from Padstow
The 8-hour full day charter costs £90 per person on a shared basis, or £700 for exclusive private charter hire of the Emma Kate for up to 8 guests. For groups of 5 or more, private charter often works out better value than shared — and gives you total control over the day's plan. See our private charter page for full details.
To book, call 07970 595244 or email mail@emmakate2.com. Full day charters book out quickly in summer — particularly for tope and bream fishing in July and August. We recommend booking as far in advance as possible.
